Samir Amin (1931-2018) was an activist and intellectual at the service of the peoples of the South and humanity in general. He fought for their emancipation from capitalism and imperialism and for the advent of a higher level of human civilization. As the director of the Third World Forum, his influence has been and remains considerable in the progressive movements of the world.
