This is a book written by a relatively younger generation of sociologists and edited by their peers. The contributions of the book were presented in a study group discussion “journée d’étude” run by the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Sciences for Development of the University of Maroua. The three announced themes of epistemology, methodology (especially discussions on procedures of data collection) and ethics have always occupied an important place within our own perspective in the teaching and practice of Sociology and related disciplines.
